Approximately fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.

The liquid had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then found many other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement report early analysis suggest the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; investigators are presently not cognizant of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials stated they were working "to solve the incident" and have asked to the public for information.

A senior official said the attack rendered him stunned and required to be resolved promptly.

"This incident hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he stated on a platform, referring to the killing of nine people by a assailant focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
